The courts of different districts in capital Yerevan continue to hear a number of cases on electoral violations that allegedly took place during the constitutional referendum on December 6. Almost all of these cases are being examined in speedy court hearings. Opposition members complain that no particular judicial inquest is conducted, which would make it possible to find out why violations were committed, who ordered them and who paid for bribing schemes.

In northern Syria, in Latakia, which is home to a compactly residing Armenian community, everyone is awaiting a settlement of the conflict that may come through a ground operation. Russian warplanes already bomb the neighborhood of Aleppo, which is home to an estimated 60,000 ethnic Armenians. Despite efforts to work in a transparent and professional manner, the referendum administration suffered from lack of trust among stakeholders, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe’s Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR) said in a final report on Armenia’s December 6 constitutional referendum.
