Proper?: Popular TV comedy not in production makes fans wonder if it has been censored
By the new NCTR standards, TV companies should not allow on its air programs that have a negative effect on the health, intellectual and physical development and education of minors. (Programs will be monitored against scenes depicting drug or alcohol use, materials disparaging of spiritual, cultural values, parodies of highly merited persons of the nation, discrediting parents and educators, romanticizing criminals and gangsters, vulgarity, obscene language, etc.). All the banned criteria are present in previously broadcast ‘Kargin Haghordum’, which consisted of several episodes of sketch comedy www.kargin.am Stars of the show – known to audiences as Mko and Hayko – say the program’s production interruption is not connected to censorship concerns. Proper Program “will continue in the future by all means,” Mkrtich Arzumanyan (Mko) told ArmeniaNow. “Currently we have stopped the works of the TV program because we are working on a new TV serial project, and we need a month to create it.” The actor said the new program will be a sitcom (situation comedy) involving several actors.
