This is Armenia: Foreign film crew find challenge and insight working “Here”

In-country production finished earlier this month on what is said to be Armenia’s first feature film produced and shot here by non-Armenians.

“Here” is the story of an American satellite-mapping engineer – Will Shepard – who is sent to Armenia on a surveying mission. While on the job Will meets Gadarine Najarian an Armenian photographer who has recently returned to the homeland after living for years in Canada and Europe.

Yes. Kapantsi from CA-Do you know other Kapantsis in CA or USA? I have never met onother Kapantsi in Holland or Europe. Once I met one Gorisetsi in Holland. I think people stick to their land and folk in Syunik. It is a kind of menatality I guess.

Yes, the Syunik-Zangezur gates in the picture. I am very proud to be Syunetsi/Zangezurtsi. This is the only region of Armenia that has always faught for its independence and was never under foreign rule (completely) and has never seen (big)massecres and has NO sad memories. This is the region where Njdeh fell in love and was loved by many. This is the region where even The Red Army was defeted. This is the region where the independent republic of Lernahayastan was proclaimed without which no Armenia would have been created by Soviets and existed. This is the region where people are simple, soft, but hardworking, true Armenian, tolerant and strong-when needed. This is the region where the history is happy, shining and non-religious. I love this region. My heart is always there. Long live Syunik-Zangezur!!!!
