Europe’s Human Rights Defenders: “We have faith in the Armenian Ombudsman”

Armen Harutyunyan is capable of advancing the country considerably in terms of human rights defense due to his activities as Armenia’s Ombudsman. This opinion was expressed by Christian Le Roux, Director of Cabinet of the French Ombudsman, in an interview with ArmeniaNow.

Dr.Prof. Armen Harutyunyan, the Armenian Ombudsman, knows that, besides the so-called democracy and human rights, the works of the heavens (read, the urge for the Truth and Justice) are decisive. If Armen Harutyunyan has the right faith in his powers, the heavens will rejoice abundantly. jeshmarid@yahoo.com

This guy's job is really not easy at all. It is probably a very frustrating and difficult job to deal with human rights issues in Armenia. The very word 'human rights' has little meaning in Armenia and the way ahead is very long.
