A controversial Armenian tabloid known for running outrageously disparaging stories about public and political figures has effectively been vindicated for derogatory treatment of parliament member last year.

Postanjian is a cheap populist - nothing more. She is regularly insulting her political opponents and gets away with this. No problem...? Then why should the tabloid's information be seen as an unsult? Freedom of the media in action! I see no problem.

Authoritarian regime? Oligarchs and 'new middle class' wed to the ruling elite? No means of upward mobility for the common man? Laws against insulting the nation or its falsely elected leaders? Free reign to slander and imprison the political opposition? My God, who among us could have lived in Turkey in the 1960s or 70s? Oh wait... this is Armenia.... and it's now?
