Eurocheaters?: Passions for song contest reveal “post-election” syndrome

The passions over Eurovision, an annual song contest held by public broadcasters in Europe, were flying high throughout last week as the discussion of the controversial outcome of a national selection stage appeared to eclipse even the debate on such vital issues for the country as the Armenian-Turkish rapprochement.

Emmy's mom is a very well connected person. She is well known in the public, within the entertainment community, and she also ran her own, women's political party (I dont know if that is still around). That is why you had people like Artur (pretty much the God father figure of the current pop industry) supporting her on H1. That will also explain why the jury chose her, yet when the SMS votes came in the little known Eva won, and even Razmik placed higher than Emmy. So if Eva was not there Razmik would have beat her. Were they going to cry foul and say that Razmik bought everyone out too? Emmy had the most powerful backing out of everyone, people backing her have much deeper connections in H1 than Eva or Razmik. So if anybody was prone to cheating or favoritism, it would have been them. The only reason they are fuming is that H1 did not just choose them, as they thought it would, but actually ran a contest. Personal opinion, I think the SMS votes were very accurate. Her song might have been hip or pop but it just was not catchy, at least for me, and as I can see now with the Armenian public did not think so either.

People need to check their reading comprehension skills, or else stop commenting when they are clearly not fully informed of what is going on. Emmy and Mihran were promised that there would be no singer contest; they were told to record 4 songs and the public would choose which song was going to Eurovision. H1 has no obligation to hold a contest, they can choose whomever they want; for example, that's what happened with Sirusho: H1 chose her, and the public chose "qele, qele" ...Emmy and Mihran were evidently promised the same set-up and the talks of an actual contest only started about a month ago. It's just another case of people not holding up their end of the bargain, that's all.

I don't really know what did happen during voting process in Armenian selection. But I completely agree with the winner. The song is nicer and meaningful. Emmy just couldn't sing at all. And so far the buzz about Armenian selection is high. I hope it will be the same way till the end. Gooooooo Armeniaaaaaaaa ! ! !

This is what happens when everything is going smooth and the tv station sales out for some cash from Russia and does not know how to cover up there shit. But do they really care about covering up there shit or they just do what they want like the Presidential election. Everyone knew the favorites were Mihran and Emmy, Everyone knew they were going to go that's why no Armeia star participated this year except Ramzik but even he knew he was not going to go I don't know why he was waisting his time. Then some girl comes form Russia no talent but a lot of money from his boyfriend and they pretty buy everyone out. They should of just paid Mihran and emmy not to participate and everything would of been great. So try to clean your shit of Armtv and Eva production.

Whilst I appreciate Emmy and Mihran may feel deprived of the victory they feel they deserved, how on earth can they justify them being cheated when they claim have been cheating themselves. "We were told we were going" . In that case, they didn't need to lie to everyone and take part in a fake voting contest. These claims will do nothing for their reputation, and as for the Armenian Public TV, we already know how much we can trust their words anyway. What a disgrace
