Is it too much to expect Russia to sit down with Armenia and Azerbaijan, draw an agreed boundary which settles the matter of land and if necessary can be policed by Russia? As part of the deal Armenia can then start working with Azerbaijan to help build a pipe-line which will cross Armenia to take oil to the Turkish ports or elsewhere. Armenia will rake a commission for the pipe-line and will therefore not need to think about ruining its own forests to mine for copper. The result is that these grown-up "men" leaders can then start to work for the benefit of their countries instead of arguing for 10 years like children over pieces of land which no one can live on anyway given the status quo and the constant talk of war. Armenia was capable of "winning" the war but it has not been able to win the peace.
