For active service: Armenians on Afghan mission earn medals and praise

Two dozen servicemen of a small Armenian contingent deployed in Afghanistan have been awarded with medals and certificates by their immediate German commanders for “being active in the process of realizing the peacekeeping mission”, according to a report by the Armenian Defense Ministry.

A 40-strong Armenian peacekeeping brigade has been on mission as part of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) since February 14 to help NATO-led allied forces fight Taliban insurgency in Afghanistan.

Good job! But any way I am against accepting "medals or gifts" from any foreign commanders. Maybe our guys can find a couple of these mercenaries who were hired by criminal authorities in Baku in 90´s and were sent to Nagorno-Karabakh to kill innocent civilians…

Fantastic job! Now if the Armenian national TV knew what :inspirational propaganda" is and made a nice documentary about our boys in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kosovo that would be great. Every other post Soviet block country nearly daily shows something from their contingents while we are just treated to rare pics from ceremonies and some minimalist footage. Maybe they dont want to publicize it too much as to not get any of the bad guys angry at Armenia?
