Melted Joy: Armenian ice hockey team is suspended apparently over citizenship issue

Armenia’s fledging ice hockey team has been indefinitely suspended by the Committee of International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), apparently because about 15 of its members have foreign (United States) citizenship.

President of the Armenian Ice Hockey Federation Hayk Jaghatspanyan emphasizes that the team – hosts of last month’s Division III World Championship – is not disqualified, but simply suspended until matters can be clarified on rules concerning dual citizenship.
