Chess: Armenia’s Aronyan second in Rapid Chess tourney in Spain
Blitz tiebreak games were required to decide the winner of a hotly contested rapid chess tournament final featuring an Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronyan competing in fast chess against three other grandmasters at a prestigious tournament in Spain Sunday.
Beating Cuban chess master Leinier Dominguez in the semifinal, Aronyan headed for the final of the XXIII Ciudad De Leon tournament (June 3-6) in Leon where he would play Israel’s Boris Gelfand, the winner of the semifinal battle against Spain’s Francisco Vallejo. Reply |
