Parliament again discusses foreign-language school bill amid growing uproar

Amid renewed criticism from the opposition and public circles Armenian lawmakers on Wednesday gathered again to discuss a government-drafted package of amendments to the laws ‘On the Language’ and ‘On General Education’ proposing opening a limited number of schools where the main language of instruction will be other than Armenian.

I think we got a lot more serious problems to worry about: 1- Turkey/Azeris/OSCE/USA/RUSSIA..not a single one of them is sincere. 2- the economy and security...Armenia looks to look at and study the SINGAPORE model and apply it ..it's simple folks

First of all improve the partially poor and corrupt education system. Secondly start special programs in TV and media to teach parents and people to learn to speak correctly Armenian – using less foreign terms -! And finally there are a lot of problems to solve, why to introduce such a bill now which creates tensions and problems in the country and society? People could learn a foreign language by taking classes at collages or private language schools, therefore there is no for such a bill!… Government has lost any connection to the peole and with the country!
