Spreken zie Kapan-Deutsch?: Germans want to encourage their language in Armenia

In an attempt to draw more attention to German as a foreign language in Armenia, the German Embassy in Armenia on May 22 and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) on May 20-24 for the first time arranged a trip visiting Armenia’s southern provinces. Within the framework of a project called Deuschmobil the Germans visited schools and institutes of Yeghegnadzor, Goris, Kapan, Meghri and Agarak. The project was open for everybody who had interest in the German language and Germany.

The delegation in Kapan presented 450 books to the Kapan college on behalf the Goethe Institute. A survey on area study was held for the pupils and a training session for teachers of the college.

Nothing wrong with learning other languages. How about learning and useing Armenian correctly and completely first, instead of half Armenian- Russian or half Armenian and other language.

Chinese is a good idea, but I don't think Yerevan State University or the Bryusov Linguistic University have Chinese-language programs, so what can we expect? Arabic and Persian might also prove useful, and already have their own chairs at YSU.

The language of English leads to Americanization/Westernization in the arena of globalism. Such a notion is danger of every state since it promotes the Americana culture, which in the cultural sphere is clearly a hegemon, one is its branches is the McDonaldization of the world. Those who are interested in the topic of globalization read the book called 'globalization' by jan arte Scholte

I agree with Krikor, but for a different reason. We desperately need to bring other languages into Armenia. We need to better promote Russian (yes, Russian. The new generation in Armenia is very bad in the Russian language and Russia is Armenia's most important strategic partner), German and French. And why not Chinese? The widespread use of the English language is a longterm danger for the Armenian state for it has become a conduit upon which anti-state activities take place. It is also the language of globalisation specifically used to brainwash the people. Thus, it's no wonder why the US government spends huge sums to spread it's use worldwide.
