I had heard "Mother Russia" only from Ossetians and Abkhazians!!!! In Russia, Armenia is ranked as one of the lasts as 'friend states' but we? We Armenians consider Russia our mother!!! We need good diplomatic, economic and military relations with Russia and that's all. Don't make it such a big thing plz.

Being in good relations with Russia? I say yes Being a strategic and even super-strategic partner? I also say yes. Unfortunately that’s not what we see today. Medvedev’s visit to Armenia reminds me of the European Presidents visits to their African colonies. The situation is the same: After so many years of independence the colony has not been able to manage a single strategic segment of the economy properly. Crippled by corruption and mass migration, it has finally handed it all back on a plate to the colonizer. In exchange the ruling class has negotiated privileges to enjoy life while they can. So, its normal that some voices say we should be thankful to Russia and that we should even get into the Russian Federation. Their vision of the future is limited by their own level of understanding. And when you can’t imagine a future for yourself then someone else will.

Armenia plays very smart politics we need russia and russia welcomes armenian loyality. Did you see how fast azerbaijan's president rushed to moscow after the invasion of russia into georgia. azerbijan was terrified an they need to be becuase thier is no postive outcome if azerbaijan chooses to go on an offensive for nkr there has been talks of menvedev to put russian troops in northern karabagh . If azerbaijan wants war then come an get it . This time u have nkr defensive forces, Armenian national army, possible russian forces an kurdish irregulars we will destroy THIER WEAK ARMY with ease despite thier superior arms

Russia just plays smart game with Armenia and Azerbaijan. If there is one country which doesn't want NKR's conflict would be resolved, I believe this Counry is Russia.

You can see that Levon Ter-Petrossia is very wrong (and he knows it very well) in his comments on Armenian-Russian relations. Armenia is not depending on west, still dependant on Russia.
