Varoujan technically Artsakh is run by the people and by most democratic standarts and Democratic deals, the people of Artsakh have every right to free itself from oppresion which the Azeri government did when Artsakh was ILLEGALLY given to Azerbaijan SSR in 1923. Artsakh has already claimed its independance, secondly it is historically Armenian and was given to Azerbaijan along with Nakhichevan illegaly without the consent of Armenia. The Soviet years are over and the region being ofcourse Armenian dominated will remain Armenia. karabagh is Artsakh and that is Armenia. The Armenians of Artakh will never let anyone sell this region out, its impossible. Not even the USA has the power to do that because this region is Armenian dominated and always was and will remain.

I am very much concerned over the role of Russia in resolving the conflict in Gharabagh, specialy after it's Forign Minister's comment that Gharabagh should be part of Azerbaijan teretorry.

I overall agree with the two remarks below. But I somewhat disagree on stressing too much the point of "in a democratic country and whether Armenians trust President Serge Sarkissian? Here I would like to pose the same question to these gentleman. Yes it is true that this is a democratic country but do trust President Bush? All leaders and countries have their agendas or interests some worse that others with their modus operandi and double standards. Yes it is true that the Georgian war somewhat silenced Pres. Aleive and Azerbaijan, but I am afraid that yet once again Armenia and Artzakh will be the sacrificial lamb. Kojian

I agree with Armen. If Diaspora continues to treat Armenia as a third world country and go along with whatever its ruling elite does to its people, Daspora should be cut out and those who support this kind of behavior should be declared persona non grata by people of Armenia.... until people take over the power in Armenia and make that a government rule.

I agree with Armenian's remark below. And I may add: Armenian diaspora is so gutless. They don't have the courage to stand up and say "no". As soon as you criticise the regime you have all these old Armenians who have not even visited Armenia once or those who have ran away or all those romantics who still hand their money over to these thiefs who start blindly defending the regime in the name of the stupid principle of "thy-shall-not-criticise-Armenia". As a Diasporan, I openly criticise Serj Sarkisyan who in only a few months managed to: - Sell the memory of the genocide - Sell Karabagh - Sell Armenia - Sell Armenians He should be assassinated or overthrown by violence and revolution and his gang should be executed if we want to save our Nation.

interesting perspectives! All I want to say that what we know is probably only 10% of what is going on backdoor. So in the absence of inforamtion understandably due to deplomatic secrecy, all we have is 'trust' in the leadership. But to what extent do people of Armenia Trust Serj Sarkisyan? in a democratic country the answer would be "well, if they [the people] can deny approval to any agreement that they see unacceptable".... true! but that is in democratic country, in Armenia, these guys proved that they can even take the army against the people if they need to settle down a business... so I say, they can sign the shame, and if necessary, they can shoot another 10 people, the diaspora will wane about it for some months... but then shut their mouth up... just like now
