Christiane Aman‘poor’: Armenians ‘scream murder’ over CNN’s genocide documentary

A powerful documentary premiered and several times rerun by CNN late last week has elicited critical responses from at least two Diaspora-based Armenian organizations and raised questions among specialists and ordinary viewers inside Armenia.

“Scream Bloody Murder” anchored by Christiane Amanpour offered a gripping look at Genocide throughout history and those who witnessed and warned a deaf world about such atrocities.

But the Armenian Assembly of America (AAA) and the Armenian National Committee of Armenia (ANCA) criticized the CNN chief international correspondent for failing to adequately discuss the Armenian Genocide of 1915.

How one could possibly describe in detail the shadow without realizing that there was an object which had created that shadow. Without questioning Christiane Amanpour's professionalism, I, like many other Armenians, have to say, felt ignored & very much hurt by the documentary. I think, we have to send messages to CNN & remind them about our history once again, because, everyone has a short memory, unfortunately.

Although Christiane Amanpour has some say in what goes in the documentary, she is not to blame, IMHO. She is just an anchor, when it comes down to reality, her job is to report, and report as dramatically as possible. Final decisions on "touchy" issues are made up top, at the corporate level. I would not be surprised if they did not mention Armenians at all. CNN had to deal with Turkish (pointless) backlash regarding their coverage of "Armenian related issues" few times, and I guess they just don't want to deal with that. I mean it is not like they are there to deliver real, unbiased, honest news, they are there to sell air time and "infortain". Profits and politics come way before the real need to inform and educate. Not mentioning The Armenian Genocide, The Great Tragedy< during a program about 20th century genocides, is like not mentioning Ford Model T in a program devoted to cars in the 20th century. shameful

What or who is CNN? What could or should people fighting for human rights and justice expect from such a news media like CNN? Just an example: President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili - a chauvinist- was going to wipe out South Ossetia, the pre text was “territorial integrity and law and order” but the real intention of Saakashvili´s war against South Ossetians was : at least South Ossetia without Ossetians”.., .. Because Vladimir Putin is the Russian Prime Minster it doesn’t mean that Mikheil Saakashvili should be allowed to commit war crimes! Mikheil Saakashvili was NON STOP on CNN making propaganda for “his war”… for news media like CNN he was just an “hero” a “democrat” an “allay” a “victim” , etc.. People who fallowed the news brought by CNN regarding crimes of Saakashvili´s regime against South Ossetians should not be surprise when CNN refused to speak about the truth on Armenian Genocide.

We all know it's not non-Christian(e) Aman Poor who decided what story was going to be told on this documentary. She's just another puppet controlled by CNN. Glad to see Armenians getting more involved with protests against the media that lies. I see a lot of people protesting on the streets, but let's be realistic, no one cares for our cause, unless we pressure the media. Pretty soon no one will care for the holocaust because of the media overkill. There were other holocausts besides the one that took place in Germany. Can the US media stop the monopoly on the word?
