On the campaign trail: Candidates in mayoral polls embark on four-week electioneering

Six political parties and one bloc last weekend officially started campaigning for what is going to be Yerevan’s first mayoral elections in nearly two decades.

Among the political forces running for the capital city’s Assembly are the governing Republican Party of Armenia (RPA, led by incumbent appointed mayor Gagik Beglaryan), pro-establishment Prosperous Armenia and Orinats Yerkir, the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) and the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Dashnaktsutyun (ARF) as well as the People’s Party and the Labor-Socialist Party of Armenia.

I hope in right time the right general will act in the best interests of country and people - if needed!. There are so called politicians, who – if they do not have to share the same cell with Nairri H - but still they deserver a place near the prison cell of Nai rri Hunanian! Armenian political elite in Yerevan has started just another phase of self-destruction and justifications of there misdeeds. This is really sad! I find this is irresponsible when for example Es president , levon and other authorities are inviting war veterans to make announcements on there behalf, or just war veterans of NK are being abused for there campaign. Decision to deny RoA citizenship and residence to Shushi battalion commander Jirayr Sefilyan, is just criminal. RA authorities have to hand Jirayr Sefilyan Armenian passport. Shame of these authorities! … and ANC/Levon´s party have to stop abusing these people for there dirty propaganda! Armenia needs a constructive opposition, without abusing the hardship of people for there dirty political games- this is immoral! The war is not over yet! Therefore time has not come to publish memories or make announcement who knew about liberation of Shushi in advance and who was not aware of it and so on. Armenian Ex-officials should just shut up, if they are not wiling to fight for the interests of Armenian people on the international arena without dividing the society and being after revenge! …
