VivaCell-MTS supports the development of robotics in Armenia

VivaCell-MTS, a subsidiary of “Mobile TeleSystems” OJSC, and the Union of Information Technology Enterprises agreed to provide robots to five educational institutions to organize group trainings. The beneficiary educational institutions include Kvant College, Basic College of the State Engineering University, the Mkhitar Sebastatsi Education Complex, school N131 and the Ayb High School.

“VivaCell-MTS extends hands to the UITE for encouraging the development of robotics in the country. Having a young generation interested in robotics is a necessary precondition for that,” said VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian. “A corporate citizen, VivaCell-MTS joins hands to develop the sphere of technology, including robotics, which can positively affect the development of related spheres of industry in Armenia and create a supply chain, help developing the country’s competitiveness in international markets as well as provide Armenia’s high reputation in the world. We are present wherever there is room to development, wherever we can encourage our people’s intellectual excellence.”

“We witnessed an interesting thing during the open championship of Armenian robots last year, which, we believe, will get a positive feedback in the public. Schoolchildren have been actively and fruitfully engaged in robotics. Today Armrobotics hosts school groups, successfully participating in the contest. This change is a result of opening robotics groups in schools,” said UITE executive director Karen Vardanyan.

The robotics groups in schools are organized by the UITE, upon VivaCell-MTS general sponsorship.
