ASALA: Clandestine Armenian group against Armenian-Turkish protocols

Armenian-Turkish protocols signed on October 10 in Zurich must not be ratified as they impose a direct threat to Armenia’s security, says Tigran Pashabezyan, coordinator of the Armenian Secret Army for Liberation of Armenia’s ‘Oukht Ararati’ (The Order of Ararat) organization.

According to Pashabezyan, the signing of the protocols has activated a number of Islamic terrorist organizations which have already implemented numerous acts of terror in Afghanistan, Iran and Pakistan since October 10; and there is apprehension that if the document is ratified something similar would start happening in Armenia, Nagorno-Karabakh and Samtskhe-Javakheti.

Memo, You got that backwards. The Armenian Diaspora are the survivors of the ignorant and ultra racist hateful, genocidal actions of the Turks. Turks are masters of murder, theft and lies. Ask the Greeks, Assyrians, Kurds, Europeans and Arabs, in fact anyone being occupied by Turks got the same treatment.

Yep, it is official. The dictator just sold out by giving lands back to the Azerbadeljanis. They already signed but are going to make it so that the Azerbadeljani saves face because of his stupid threats. They are going to give up 5 provinces and keep the surrounding 2 provinces and allow Artsagh self determination. They have sold out the Western Armenian diaspora to the Turks for a profit all inspired by the oligarchs and criminals so they can make some more money. May they all go to Jahenem and quickly.

The name of the organisation in Armenian - «Ուխտ Արարատի», 'Oukht Ararati' - ought to be rendered "The Order of Ararat" in English.

Some are still trying to divide us but our history taught us to stay unified. So don't believe these bullshits. Question: could Oukht Ararati be to Armenia and armenians what Mossad is for jews and Israel? verbum sat sapienti.

These protocols are imposed on Armenia. Better just try to make (explain) the world community clear, that Turkey is for the “tiny” Republic of Armenia the same as Nazi Germany was for Poland and Baltic states in 1939

One day the right people (real nationalists) will take over our beloved Hayastan and then the judgment day will come to every traitor. Long live Avo’s memory!

Thank God we have our army now - that's Armenia's and the best NKR army. If we need to blast few pipelines it can be done. But placing disinformation about ASALA is no professional journalism for ArmeniaNow. Not everything that flies is worth to print. ASALA was and is no more. It did it's good and bad. Maybe we need new underground movement but that's another topic.

Turkey has turned West Armenia into a valuable transit territory – an energy hub- and know Turkey and Azerbaijan are blackmailing Armenia.

Putting few ASALA members in jail or shooting them in the back at war times doesn’t mean they’ve got rid of it for good. When the time is right it will be alive again.

Who said ASALA don't exist anymore, where do you get that from? And who are you people to make such statements?

It is the 10th anniversary of the Armenian parliament killing and Armenia lost great leaders. 10 years have past and Armenia is still in vulnerable position. Armenians are claiming for justice first and foremost from from its leaders. Armenians do NOT need ASALA. I believe they have all the cultural and political tools to defend their country and their cause.

I agree with Aram...when I read this "article" I could not help but feel it was fabricated. Perhaps there is a club or minor organization called "Oukht Ararati" but of what significance is it? This article serves no purpose other than anti-Armenian propoganda. As a loyal reader and supporter of ArmeniaNow, I would recommend a bit more perspective in the use of such eye-catching headlines with little to no news or insight to back it up, let alone any facts.

"Oukht Ararati" is indeed comprised of some former ASALA members but it doesn not claim to be the successor of the ASALA; either the Hagop Hagopian branch or the ASALA Revolutionary Movement that was established by Monte Melkonian and Alex Yenikomshian and others. I would agree that this is just a propaganda piece issued by either Turkish intelligence or someone else. "Oukht Ararati" has every right to oppose the Protocols but Armenia Now should not present their views as those of ASALA; defunct for the past 25 years or so. Get your facts straight Armenia Now!

This news item is a FRAUD and should be deleted from ArmeniaNow ASAP. No such organization as "ASALA" exists anymore!... And anyone claiming to be so is a fraud. What is ASALA? When was the last time it did any violent act, or any act for that matter? It has long been disbanded! ArmeniaNow is doing a dis-service by publishing such heresy articles by people claiming to be ASALA.

Who ever like to serve Armenia can join the national army of Armenian or national army of NKR. Else there are other ways to be “useful” – this would be to fight dirty anti Armenian propaganda organized by criminal politicians in Baku, taking into account that the propaganda department in Baku – hand in hand with certain forces in Ankara- are systematically applying a psychological war/operation against Armenia and Armenian nation Baku is trying to make above all the most use of “Azerbaijani Jewish community” and corrupt “experts” form international think tanks, while applying her psychological operation against Armenian and Armenian nation in the whole! Editing of the Armenian Genocide and “selling “ the edited version “ of the Armenian Genocide as the faked genocide of “Azerbaijani Genocide”, or “Genocide of 1918”, or “Genocide of Kohjali” is just part of this psychological operation of Turkey and Azerbaijan

‘Oukht Ararati’ doesn't represent the views of ASALA. Official ASALA has supported the protocols. ‘Oukht Ararati’ is a registered nonprofit organization with former ties with official ASALA, but has no formal connection to the latter.

"ASALA" is invisible organization with invisible members. It exists in minds of Turks and Azeris and a few ignorant Armenian kids that are romanticized by "tales of ASALA" and like to post bellicose "ASALA" clips on YouTube.

Armenian President Sarksyan has the right to declare that he does not now belong to ASALA. Therefore, he has the right to keep his secrets away from ASALA. U.S. President is enough, even if we do not mention the Russian President. jeshmarid@yahoo.com

Memo NO! You are wrong and wrong is armeianow to publish your comments, Armenians Diaspora is just the result of the Armenian Genocide commited by Turkish, while Turkish Diaspora being “exported” “work immigrants ….Armenians Diaspora has any reason to demand justice for the Armenian Genocide, while Turkish Diaspora is nothing but a tool (fifth column of Turkey) in the hand of Turkish government to blackmail Armenia Diaspora and US and EU! The only “blindly ignorant and hateful” is you!

ASALA is not a force or an active organization any more. I think Ankara and Baku will use the statements of "ASALA" (empty talks) to blackmail Armenia and Armenians. I do believe “ASALA “Is history! Most probably Turkish “hidden state” will create a “ASALA” , if Turkey is convinced it would serve Turkish interests. Fact is these anti-Armenian protocols being imposed on Armenian. Turkey in no way can achieve any kind of conciliation with Armenian nation by pursuing such a himulating and denial policy … What Armenia need is unity , talented politicians and first of justice within Armenia itself

“After their signing Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan undertook a trip to the countries with major Armenian communities; why, in that case, Turkish President Abdullah Gul did not take such a trip? The answer is obvious – the protocols are of openly pro-Turkish character,” says Pashabezyan. I beg to disagree. The reason for the President to visit the Diaspora was because the Diasporans are so blindly ignorant and hateful that the President felt the need to calm them down in person.
