My daughter attends the 5-th form. Yes, I confirm that the shool books are quite difficult. To me this is a two prone question - (i)Theoretically, yes, maybe they have to be so because ...we live in a new age where demand for knowledge has increased. On the other hand, and this is the second, neither school system nor parents are prepared to this and this is very dangerous, since on the one hand the children (and most of the parents as well)acquire a serious inferiority complex and/or just quit at some point, on the other hand an army of teachers and the representatives of the public school system (I do not mean all but unfortunately the majority of them) turn this into their own small current day-to-day interest(s) and the corruption of the system is flourishing. At the end of the day - "Congrats! We ourselves are spoiling our own generation" - ...whom then we will be blaiming tomorrow?...USA, Europe, or others... One thing is clear - it is less the books themselves (though as a citizen I would love to learn more about the process of competition, selection, suggested methodology review, etc) but actually it is more how it is actually done and the professionalism and committment of the school system to their mandate. At the end of the day, we see it in many places that teachers do not care either. "Yes, I see, the speed is too high, children understand when I explain them but there is no time at all to go over, recap from time to time and properly dijest the material. Next, on the second and third lesson comes a new more difficult topic" said once one of the maths teachers in elementary classes to me "But what I can do, this is the school programme..", she continued. Unfortunately, only a few of teachers try to find some solutions, raise questions, recommend something to parents, etc. In my time of studying (1978-1988) I do not remember that we were studying fractions at the 2nd form... My daugher is doing well, but it is because I am helping her very much (instead of the school) and because she has no choice than to use her play time for the studying...

This is true.. But as far as I know above all still mathematic and physic are of LOW level or teachers are not good enough ...! Beside this most teachers should get to learn new teaching methods!
