Exported labor: New research focuses on situation of Armenian migrant workers in Turkey

A majority of women in Armenia intent on doing migrant work abroad choose Turkey, but very few Armenian men accompany them “to save their wives’ honor” and never choose to work for a Turkish employer, according to a recently conducted research related to Armenian migrant workers in Turkey.

Perhaps Armenians in general don't care about the fate of other Armenians who either are very poor or come from broken homes and have spent time in orphanages. So they may end up going to Turkey? Is it possible that some Turkish employers are more accepting of such individuals than Armenian ones?

It is a shame for our people. Every honorable Armenian should keep a tight lid on his daughter, sister and mother. Why not open a "Brothel" in Yerevan, where foreigners come and molest our girls for dollars? I understand that poverty is the major cause of prostitution rings proliferating in Armenia today, so the government should step in and take care of this problem. Not every girl has a father who is a president. Serzhik should know better, he is a father of two daughters, and such, should look into this matter. Remember, every time an Armenian girl goes to work in Turkey, she will engage in "prostitution" and nothing else.

Can the author elaborate on this statement?:: "But there is also a psychological thing – an Armenian prostitute for a Turkish man is a different thing." Meaning the Turkish man prefers the Armenian prostitute? And why?

What a mess!!! I wonder what Serj Sarkisyan has to say about this national shame?
