Հայաստանում առաջին անգամ կանցկացվի հունահռոմեական ըմբշամարտի աշխարհի գավաթի խաղարկությունը. Հայաստանն այս մարզաձևում ճանաչվել է աշխարհի լավագույն երկրներից մեկը` իրավունք ստանալով ոչ միայն մասնակցել, այլև անցկացնել այդ խաղերը Հայաստանում:
