Even with only twenty somewhat years of existence on the political stage the Republican party of Armenia has again proven that they have more political savvy and diplomatic sophistication than all our traditional diasporan political parties combined. I never doubted this man's intentions, I never doubted his patriotism, nor do I doubt the strategic importance of unconditional normalization of relations with Ankara. I was very impressed by president Sargsyan's performance in London. Perhaps those who wrongfully opposed this man will now slowly begin to come out of their hysteria, irrationality and ignorance...

Kocharyan used to thrash azeris from time to time?!?! Maybe the author can also bring some examples of such “thrashings” and their positive effects for us? I believe that few people harmed the cause of Karabakh Armenians as much, as Serzh’s predecessor. Maybe the Armenian president should visit Great Britain more often, but his words will act more purposeful and it would be generally advantageous if he also meets some decision makers and not only Queen and some Armenian businessmen. Maybe one can say “après Serzh” when he is received in official London the way Alievs are always received.

The goals of the British and the US State Department is to guarantee an access route to the world’s largest and most strategic gas & oil reserves in Central Asia (Turkmenistan & Kazakhstan); never mind Azerbaijan's current reserves. Armenia is the only viable energy route to penetrate the Caucasus to gain access (laying down several gas & oil pipelines from the Caspian basin crossing Armenia and Turkey an on to Europe and the Western market. There is a problem: Turkey is a corridor from Europe with a dead end (closed borders with Armenia); and Azerbaijan is locked-out from the West (closed border with Armenia). Why not via Georgia?; it is deemed unstable and unreliable with continuous Russian destabilization efforts. The only other route is Armenia. Why is it so important for the West? 1) Because, it provides an end to Russian dominance (leverage and influence) of gas supplies to Europe. 2) Russian Federation would be wakened and in the future dismembered into the independent republics that form it(dagestan, tataristan, chechnya, etc..). 3) Prevent China and India from developing too fast by controlling the energy reserves that China is competing with the same resources. 4) Prevent Iran from gaining direct access to export its own gas & oil pipelines (independent of Turkey) across Armenian and onto the Black Sea Georgian port of Batumi. Iran views Armenia route and the Georgian port of Batumi as a strategic gateway across the black sea to Europe and the West, for its direct imports and exports. Be ware of Brits bearing gifts!!

How about posting the actual speech? I like what he said about stockpile of weapons firing one day. Wise words. It's true. That's why people say even the gun hanging on the wall fires at least once. I would only add in Aliev's case that guns are even more dangerous in the hands of those you don't know how to use them:)

i read the whole speech, and it was impressive. All the millions of dollars spend by Azeris on propaganda were neutralized... I agree with the editor, the president should make those visits more often, everyone knows the truth but Azeri lies can distort the facts a bit especially with the massive Turkish support....
