I agree with Sos, that is one of the things that people fails to understand. How can you say that Serzh Sargsyan will "sell Karabakh, give it to the Turks", when he was born there? He is Karabakhtsi, Artsakh is his home. How can you sell your own motherland or give it up when you know it will face destruction? Furthermore, he fought during the war, he knows why Artsakh is so important to us. He can say "We will have to make concessions" (because we will have to if we want the peace process to work), but have you listened to what he says not only in front of Armenian public, but in international public? He constantly repeats "NKR is in NO WAY part of Azerbaijan, there can be a negotiation process where both sides will have to make concessions in order to get to peace, but NKR independence is not a subject of discussion". Now, don't get me wrong...I don't like the guy, he's a terrible president and an oligarch, but at least he's not like "Let's give up Artsakh so we can get friendly with the Turks" Ter-Petrosyan. Also, Sos...I have also been in NKR recently, and I can tell you, you are right, it looks beautiful, it's progressing, yet there is much to be done. The Diaspora should really work towards the improving of Artsakh and its international recognition, it's one of the objectives of the Hay Dat...yet to me it seems that it is always in 2nd place, and it shouldn't. Genocide recognition is utterly important, but as well, the recognition and the improvement of Artsakh is of utter importance. Oh, and to gelat. Man, we already survived the 90's, and if there is a period in space and time where our fate as a people and as a nation was more uncertain it was the 90's. Blockaded, isolated and poor...we have managed to do some progress as a country against all odds. Of course, we have many many problems, but we still have much work to do, and unlike Azerbaijan....someday our government will be changed, we will have new leaders and they will be better. Armenia has already suffered much, our people was very close to touching the bottom, if it did not touch it in reality back in those days. Today, we must aim at the future and work to improve Armenia. And that's the no1 task of all Armenians, the Diaspora, Armenia and Artsakh.

LTP blames Armenians for everything. That is sick. He utters not one word of criticism of Turkey or Azerbaijan, or the West or Russia. LTP wants his old Karabagh peace plan put into place - autonomy but not independence for RNK - so he can say "I told you so." As for his claim that the Armenian government does not take Russia's views into consideration, the government takes them too MUCH into consideration. Russia dominates Armenia. LTP is just plain nuts.

This is basically the same approach LTP had back when he was in power. He always considered NK problem to be the issue that was keeping us from "advancing" and he wanted to get rid of that "stone in his shoe", that's why he was ready to cede it all to Azerbaijan, and that is why Azerbaijan looks back in nostalgia those days of LTP, when if left some more months in power, we would have no Armenian left in NK or not any NK at all. And that's why he was removed from power, and people fail to remember, because of a bad memory or simple silliness, that they were the ones supporting his removal because he was indeed betraying national interests. I have never liked LTP or the opposition we have, if they claim so much the government in power (which I don't like either) lies and cheats to the people, they do as well, but with other purposes. By creating their "apocaliptical" analysis of what will happen in Armenia should their leaders not be in power, they only try to scare enough people to get more votes. People has to know that being in the opposition means nothing else than answering to other group of power's interests, to some other oligarch's interests, which happen to don't like the current government, they don't answer to the people, they have never done, they will never do. The main problem of Armenia is people, they have stopped caring about the political life of the country, others have begun to interest yes, but it is not enough. People stopped believing there could be chance that could improve their lives and their country years ago, people stopped believing in a god government or one that they could count on. Those who support the opposition have this little hope, which will vanish should the opposition get to power, because as I said, they don't care about you and me, they care about them. Without people believing they can chance things, they have the power of changing things, nothing can be done, because we have already been defeated without even beginning to fight. But maybe this is the way we have been raised to think, at some point, we still have the same kind of political system we had in the USSR, where people didn't care about politics or the government, because they knew very well they couldn't change it...we still have that same fear of changing. I hope new generations will be able to change this country, because if we keep trusting the same people we have already trusted before and have failed us, then we are going nowhere. Two wrongs don't make one right. The only thing NK gave people is at least the feeling they could be successful against all odds, it showed us what happens when we are united and pursue one goal, even if not even we believe we could achieve it sometimes. Why can't we unite again with the goal of changing this country? Or at least making it less bad? Of course, NK issue gained us enemies in the region, and gave a hand so many of the problems we live today started, but these enemies were enemies we knew we always had...and in one way or another, knowing who is a backstabber beforehand it is better than discovering it later. Sorrily, we have been left out of all regional projects, we are closed by two fronts, we are poor and isolated. Yet, we still manage to have at least some improvements, isn't that something to be proud about? Of course not everything is perfect, but it is not what we had mere 10 years ago, it is at least a tiny little better. So what are we going to do next? What is the next step? We will not know until we actually start caring about it. And finally, the only point I agree with Paron Ter-Petrosyan is that we all know in order to solve the NK problem we will have to do some kind of concession, and that is not an option or a "defeatist approach" to the issue, it is a reality, and we better start attaching to it...what is the point of being in the peace process then? We and Azerbaijan will have to make concessions, big and painful ones that will meet with heavy opposition. The question is not whether we will have to, the question is when. And the other question is whether those concessions will help to solve the problem or to aggravate it. But any concessions these might be, NKR has to stay either as an internationally recognized independent country or as intentionally recognized Armenian territory...there's no other option for us, and this is clearly visible by everyone.

Not one single individual, be it Levon or Serzh, have the right, without express and concrete participation of "all" Armenians worldwide, and especially the Armenians who own Artsakh, to decide the future of Artsakh. Doing so, will be tantamount to treason. This is not a joke, the future of Armenia is hanging by a thin thread. Everyone knows, Levon and Serzh included, that once Artsakh is gone, so is the future of our dangerously squeezed country. It will take about 100 turkish soldiers to walk into Lake Sevan or Meghri. be this be a warning for politicians, who have fattened up their bank accounts and are in a state of disregard, that any false movement on their part, and Armenians worldwide will throw all their weight upon the traitors and smash them. I don't care much about Levon or Serzh, but I do care about the Armenian people who are the owners of these lands, and such, are entitled for some kind of a "say" in the matter.

giving up Artsakh will put Armenias future in question, that means the Muslim Turks around Armenia won yet another battle.... we have to get out of this conflict as winners.... it is better if there was no conflict but the current situation is much better than a Turkish Artsakh...
