Why, on this map, is Artsakh such a similar color to Azerbaijan instead of Armenia? This makes our cause look wrong in odar eyes.

Nationalism in this region is always extremely dangerous, because we are never going to be enough to challenge a superpower and a superpower will always have its own interests at hand. Where was Russia during the Serb bombing? Iran cares nothing for Armenia and has stated many times it strongly opposes Artsakhs independence. Remember, Iran wants good relations with Azerbaijan and its own (big) Azeri population. Those two are more important than Armenia, to them. What can we do? Strengthen democracy in Armenia, build its economy so people will want to stay (or dare I dream, some Western Armenians even move to Eastern Armenia?!) and let the Diaspora be its 'ambassadors' in a more organized, less partisan fashion.

The so called Christian West has not helped Armenia since 1800's, Russia is after its own interest. Georgia has been sold to the highest offer like desperate prostitute and they'll sell out Armenians for pocket change. Greece can't even take care of itself, if any one believes Turks are nicer now, then they should believe in tooth fairies. Only China and Iran remain as countries that Armenia can somewhat depend on if they play their cards right, and I hope the God after 700 years of failure by incompetant leadership they are playing their cards right.

** Superpowers are fading out, Regional powers are in. ** Armenia does not align itself with illusionary "superpowers". Iran is a giant strategic regional power on Armenia's southern frontiers; it holds significant importance to Armenia (security, trade, energy, and military; Iran's importance is increasing over the old and failed-US State-Department and the often weak and unpredictable-incalculable policies of the Russian-Federation.
