Sos is right Armenian officials CANNOT/are not allowed to visit turkey. general population only cares about the price and all you can eat food thats why they go there. we need to build affordable resorts here in Armenia, to atleast cut the traffic going there. diaspora needs to work with goverment for building such efforts, regular citizens cannot build this, sure we all would want them to be more consious but time has shown that short term gain is highly prefered now days vs long term sustainability.

Leyla, The Armenian Government has banned Armenian Government officials from vacationing to Turkey. That was put in to law late last year or early this year. A Tax Authority Minister was fired from his post this year for vacationing in Turkey.

The worst thing is that the Armenian government members not only to asa big fun to discourage but pay visits to Turkey themselves. They consider it a big fun to go and spend their money there. This is a big mistacke! These stories should be told openly and people warned. This may happen to everybody visiting Turkey. We do not have diplomatoc relations that means anyone is helpless in this violent country.

Armenian tourists don't go to Turkey. Go to Georgia, Ukrain etc. Turkey is anti Semetic and anti Christian. Turkey's ancestors commited a Genocide against Armenians, Greeks, Assirians, Kurds etc. The evil Leopard(Turkey) will not change it's spots. Turkey is a mirror image to it's ancestor, The Ottomans. Arabs, too, suffered from the Ottoman armie's occupation of their lands in Syria, Lebanon etc., for four centuries.

@Raf I whole heartedly agree with you. No reason to go there. There are so many other beautiful places to visit where the receiving nation is welcoming and hospitable. Its a real shame knowing that Armenians from Armenia visit that God-forsaken country. Being born in Istanbul, I thank my parents everyday for getting us out of there. Christians in Turkey, Armenian or not, are always treated as second class citizens.

Firstly, from a moral point of view it is absolutely wrong for Armenians to spend their holidays in a country which committed genocide against our people and it is still denying it, moreover, it has caused so much damage to Armenia’s economy by closing the border. Secondly, since there is no diplomatic relation between Armenia and Turkey even if we assume that Turkey is the safest and most secure country in the world (which is of course a ridiculous assumption), the Armenian government should publicly discourage and even warn its citizens of traveling to that country, the situation is actually quite similar to US-Iran relations, although Iranian people(not the government) are far more hospitable towards Americans than Turks towards Armenians, the US government constantly warns its citizens of traveling to Iran, this only goes to show how incompetent the Armenian foreign ministry is.
