Antranig, you are right but I don't really blame Armenian nationalists. I understand them because they were right to be angry. Armenian nationalism is totally acceptable, it's a rightful reaction. But Turkish nationalism isn't so much different from Nazism, that's why I totally oppose it. Turkey has been ruled by Turkish Nazis since 1923. Ataturk was the Fuhrer, Turkish military stayed as the Old Guard. Now Erdogan's government weakened them. Erdogan sometimes talks like a liberal but he sometimes make nationalist comments and I don't know which one is his true personality. I don't expect a big change from Erdogan. But I expect a change from the new young generation. They have internet access and they can read different perspectives in a very early age. I'm also trying to educate people in this issue on blogs, forums as much as I can.

Mert, God bless you. Most of us would be more than happy to return to our Armenian lands, even under a Turkish flag...if we could simply heal the wounds of the past. There is much from our history, even from the 1940's, 1950's, 1970's and 1980's that need to be cleared out. Nationalists on both sides have been pawns of the cold war long enough.

As a Turk, I believe we should pay reparations to Armenians. We should also open the border with Armenia and let Armenians to return to their historical lands. But I don't think an American court will decide in favor of Armenians. They reject paying reparations to Native American Indians and African Americans. The US is not different from Turkey. But I'm not saying we shouldn't do it because Americans don't do it. If we believe in justice, we should compensate any harm we did to Armenian people.
