Otherside of Madeleon Turkey's #1 trading partner is, RUSSIA. Without Russia, Turkey would be in Shambles. As for the rest of your post, it's not worth answering.

I feel the same way in that I like Obama a lot and am saddened that he did not do it this time around. I would, however, add that there are pressures and considerations that did not allow him to do so. Having said that, Obama seems to be a man of integrity unseen in the White House for generations. Based on that, I still hope that he will call Genocide by its name and pressure Turkey into making concessions on the issue (perhaps this should come first and that is why it would be premature for Obama to make the move?)

Briliantly written! And so deeply from the heart. As an Armenian living in America, I felt the same way about Obama, hopeful, but let-down. I hope you send this in a letter to the White House! Thank you

Well,I guess it is taboo for armenians to hear counter arguments therefore they think they are free to call anyone arguing the opposite as racist..However if armenians want to live in a democratic country that there is different opinions they must be open to any discussion.. Second, todays armenia has isolated himself to Russian support..If there is no Russian support there is no armenia.. The invasion of Azerbaijan by mainly Russian forces and by Russian weapon is violating international laws..Howlong can thatmuch dependent relationship can go with Russia it is a question mark but as far as Armenia follows the saame policy of invading 20 of Azerbaijan including Karabag that is for sure Azerbaijan land,Turkey will not open the border... I am sure Obama is well aware that todays armenias close ties with Russia therefore his support will be restricted to please some of his armenian voters..Other than that Armenias existance depends on outside donations and support...

@othersideof madeleon The other side of madeleon is the Turkish racism, which is a state ideology in Turkey! And Genocide is the highest form of racism! During WW II more than NON Jews were killed than Jews and even more Germans were killed during WW II than Jews. All these are no reason to deny the fact of Holocaust! Beside people in Baku are bad in mathematic, Karabakhi Armenians are keeping not more than 7% to 8% of Azerbaijani territory as security area It seems President Obama is going to make one step forward two steps backward. Today, unlike Armenian Diaspora, Armenia is part of international law therefore the position of official Armenia is much of important than ever! The Genocide of Armenian people happened because of Armenian home land and Armenian wealth. What Armenian people did lost (people, home land, culture heritage) by the Turkish lead genocide of Armenia people has NO price ,but still to try to get at least 10% of land and wealth , which Armenian people did lost during the Armenia Genocide would be equal of “a Turkish apologize” for this crime against humanity !

How about the Turks being killed in world war 1?How do we call it? How about the alliance of Armenians with Russians French and other nations to invade Turkey?Hadnt they offer an "armenian state" in Turkey? When it didnt happen due to late but a correct move of Ottomans,is it Turks fault? Ottoman empire is deing like a ship sinking,Turks fiht to exist against so many enemies internal and outside...Sorry Armenians played big and they get what they deserve nothing more nothing less.. Second what do Hughes think Armenians(infact Russians) Azerbaijan invasion of 20%?What does he think about the more than 1 million Azeris living in train wagoons? Is it an Azeri Genocide? PS:you can not publish this comment I suppose...
