Yerevan Paints Hollywood (but don’t tell anybody)

When Oscar-nominee actress Maggie Gyllenhaal showed up for the Academy Awards in Hollywood Sunday night, she turned heads on the red carpet in a silk dress that had been painted, ArmeniaNow has learned, by a Yerevan artist. We dare not speak the artist’s name, as the artist has signed away credit claims to the designer. The wearable canvass was inspired by Van Gogh’s “Starry Night”. Gyllenhaal didn’t win supporting actress, but we give an Oscar to Yerevan’s Artist ‘X.’.

pretty much nobody knows who,

pretty much nobody knows who, where and what, but still was made by Armenian, so worth discussing. reminds me old Soviet joke;

- Did you ever drink Coca-cola?
- No! But my cousin had seen how someone was drinking it.

I wonder why this article does not give credits to Dries Van Noten (i.e. that dress designer, btw not confidential at all, thanks to google), for taking this Armenian artist labor at this level.

Starry Night

The comment above is by a sad person who feels sorrow for other's success. Yes the artist is a woman from Yerevan. Do not cry.

It is so typical that

It is so typical that Armenians have to claim something they cannot support other than by claims of confidentiality. It is only to the wild imagination of the reader to guess what happened in reality and who should be credited for what. If the Armenian artist is legally bound to not disclose any info and moreover was reimbursed for his/her services, there is no meaning to claim extra-fame. Enjoy your money and not make much fuzz about your contribution. Modesty is a virtue, in fact.
