Air Crash: Flight from Tehran to Armenia goes down in Qazvin

A commercial airliner in flight from Teharan, Iran to Yerevan, has crashed around the northern Iran city of Qazvin, presumably killing all 168 passengers, including Armenians on the flight.

The Caspian Airlines flight crashed about 15 minutes after takeoff, some 90 miles north of Tehran.

An Iranian fire brigade emergency official told CNN that witnesses saw “a great fireball” and that the crash scene encompasses about 200 square meters, including a crater created apparently from impact. The official said the search is now for “bodies” and “parts”. Judging by the crash-site scene, no survivors are expected.
