Focus on the Family: D.C. forum will address Diaspora-Armenia relations

A forum to begin Sunday (February 28) in Washington, D.C. will gather intellectuals, academics and policymakers whose aim for the three-day event will be to address Diaspora relations.

Policy Forum Armenia, a D.C.-based think tank with associates from a dozen countries has called the forum “to provide an opportunity for academics, policy practitioners, and the public to discuss perspectives on, and approaches to, the present-day challenges facing the Armenian nation.”

Noting that “Armenia-Diaspora relations have never been more strained in the 20 years since independence,” PFA’s lineup of participants includes former U.S. Ambassador to Armenia, John Evans and the keynote address is to be delivered by Heritage Party founder and Armenia’s first Foreign Minister, Rafi Hovanissian.

The opening events will include presentation of PFA’s latest report, this one a survey of Diaspora-Armenia relations since independence. A copy of the report will be made available after its release at www.pf-armenia.org
