Golden Apricot: Film festival adds sponsors
Armenia’s Golden Apricot International Film Festival announced today that the European Commission Delegation in Armenia, the British Council have signed on as sponsors for the seventh annual festival which starts Sunday in Yerevan. Also joining as sponsors are the Brazilian Embassy to Armenia, and Brazilian-Armenian film critics, writer, and film director Leon Cakoff (Shataryevian), who founded the Sao Paulo International Film Festival in 1977.
During the week-long festival 120 films will be shown among which 44 will be competing for awards. The British Council Armenian office designed a special award for the ‘Armenian Panorama’ short film category, with the winner earning a an opportunity to participate in the UK’s Bristol Film Festival.
