Boxing Championships, destination Azerbaijan: Armenian athletes expect security in Baku
Levon Hovhannisyan, Secretary General of Boxing Federation of Armenia told ArmeniaNow, that they have turned to the International Boxing Association (AIBA) several times, asking for support. “Last time Gagik Tsarukyan, President of the Armenian National Olympic Committee turned to them (AIBA), after which they replied that their representatives would leave for Baku soon to participate in a special session, where the security of Armenians (Armenian sportsmen) would be among top issues to be discussed,” Hovhannisyan says. It is not decided yet how many sportsmen will leave for Baku but it is expected no more than eight.
