Armenia wants to preserve EU trade preferences, said Economy Minister Karen Chshmarityan as quoted by News.am.

Talking to reporters on Wednesday, Chshmarityan said Armenia’s joining the Eurasian Economic Union will not affect development of relations with the European Union.

“In early November we will continue talks with our European partners on a strategy, according to which relations will be developed,” the minister said, according to the news portal.

The contacts will not be narrowed down, they will grow to a higher level, he added.

“We attach great importance to maintaining GSP+ preferences that enable us to export over 6,000 items to the EU with zero or reduced customs duties,” Chshmarityan concluded.
