Karabakh: One Armenian soldier killed at line of contact

An Armenian soldier has received a fatal gunshot wound in Nagorno-Karabakh on Tuesday, Stepanakert’s military reports.

The Karabakh Defense Ministry says the incident happened at around 9:50 am in the southern direction of the line of contact with Azerbaijani forces. It identifies the killed soldier as Gevorg Gevorgyan, born in 1996.

This is the latest fatality in the standoff after a verbal ceasefire agreement was reached by the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides on April 5. Prior to that, scores of soldiers were killed and wounded from both sides in renewed fighting in the conflict zone.
