Azerbaijan has been amassing and actively moving its troops in different directions of the line of contact with Nagorno-Karabakh overnight, the ethnic Armenian military authorities in Stepanakert reported on Monday.
“The frontline units of the Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Army are following the steps being undertaken by the Azerbaijani armed forces and are ready to resort to corresponding actions, if necessary,” Nagorno-Karabakh’s Defense Ministry said in a statement.
At the same time, it is reported that the April 5 agreement on ceasefire verbally reached by the sides following four days of deadly fighting has largely been observed.
“The situation is under the control of the frontline units of the Defense Army,” the Ministry stressed.
Earlier, Nagorno-Karabakh’s Defense Ministry said three Armenian servicemen were killed in two separate incidents at the line of contact in the directions of Talish and Martuni over the weekend. One Armenian soldier wounded in an April 29 skirmish succumbed to his wound in hospital early on Monday.
