Witness of War

One of Karabakh’s most magnificent churches, Ghazanchetsots Cathedral in Shushi, survived through devastation and atrocities of the war in the early 1990s when it was used by Azeri troops as a storehouse for munitions to shell nearby Stepanakert. The partially destroyed 19th-century church was renovated and re-consecrated after the liberation of the stronghold city by Armenian forces in May 1992.
