Chess: Aronian in World Mind Games

Top Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian is sixth among 16 participants after 25 rounds of play at the Blitz chess tournament of the World Mind Games being held in Beijing, China.

The 32-year-old Armenian currently ranked fifth by international chess’s governing body, FIDE, has 14 points.

France’s Maxime Vachier-Lagrave is at the top of the standings with 17 points.

Meanwhile, in the Rapid chess tournament Aronian took fourth place with 4.5 points. Russia’s Alexander Grischuk won the tournament with 5 points.

The Games will continue till December 17.
