Chess: Aronian finishes 10th at Tata Steel

Top Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian finished well behind leaders at an annual prestigious tournament that ended in Wijk aan Zee, the Netherlands, on Sunday.

After 13 days of play at Tata Steel Aronian, who won the tournament a year ago, scored 5.5 points, finishing 10th among 14 participants.

Reigning world champion Magnus Carlsen from Norway won the tournament with 9 points.

Young Armenian-American chess player Samuel Sevian took sixth place in Tata Steel’s Tournament B.
