Chess: Armenian WGM becomes Champion of Ukraine

Armenian WGM Evgeniya Doluhanova has become the Champion of Ukraine as a member of the team “Law Academy” (Kharkiv) in the country’s Team Championship that was held in Illichivsk.

Playing only with men rivals, Doluhanova scored 6 points out of 7, Armches.am reports.

Meanwhile, according to the same source, Armenian WFM Maria Gevorgyan fulfilled a grandmaster norm in the European Women’s Championship that was held in Chakvi, Georgia.

FIDE will award Gevorgyan with the title of International Master during its Congress in September, 2015.

Finally, Armenian WGM Lilit Mkrtchian has got the right to play in the next World Women’s Championship due to the results she showed at the European Women’s Championship 2015. Armenian GM Elina Danielian got that right earlier, due to her results at the European Women’s Championship in 2014.
