Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan resigns

Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan has tendered a letter of resignation, spokesman for the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Eduard Sharmazanov told media today, adding that the move was discussed and accepted at the RPA executive body’s meeting.

“Today, on April 3, Prime Minister Sargsyan, according to his own initiative and application, which we treat with respect, fulfilled his function and submitted his resignation,” said Sharmazanov.

The party spokesman said the resignation was not connected with the motion of no-confidence that the opposition has planned to initiate soon.
